Smack, Trey - GB

Smack, Trey

Rookie kicker Trey Smack was selected by the Green Bay Packers in the 6th round (#216 overall) of the 2026 NFL Draft. Following the Packers' release of veteran Brandon McManus, Smack is positioned to secure Green Bay's starting kicking job. His immense leg strength offers major upside, but the volatility of a rookie kicker makes him a risky draft-day selection. At Florida he Converted 53-of-64 (82.8%) field goals and 100-of-101 extra points. Smack established a Gators program record with 10 career field goals of 50+ yards. This translates to significant points in leagues that reward long-distance kicks. Landing on an above-average Packers offense gives him excellent point-scoring potential if the team stalls out in enemy territory. Head coach Matt LaFleur is known for aggressively going for it on 4th down rather than attempting field goals in plus territory. Kicking at Lambeau Field late in the season can yield sub-optimal scoring environments due to freezing temperatures and wind. Unless you are able to land a top 5-8 fantasy kicker in the final round of your re-draft league, we always suggest waiting to address the kicker position on a week-to-week waiver wire basis. Smack is one of those weekly streaming options we would likely target.
