For years, the Steelers were a team centered around their stout defense. Their game plan on offense was to pound the ball and rely on the QB to take an occasional shot down the field.
In more recent years, they have been more willing to air the ball out, often rolling out multi-WR sets. As the coaches have become more comfortable in Ben Roethlisberger to run the offense, they have turned more toward a hurry-up, no-huddle attack.
