Kyle Eckel will also see a handful of carries. |==================================================| 6. Stock Up / Down |==================================================| * STOCK UP: QB Jeff Garcia (TB) Since being dumped by Cleveland and then Detroit Garcia has turned into not only a viable fantasy QB, but more importantly a winning NFL QB. Garcia is 9-3 in the last 12 regular season games in which he has started. That's a solid record. As for his fantasy output, well, he is ranked in the top 10 in QB scoring in most leagues. This is a bit inflated by the fact that he has not yet had a bye week, but that means he has been a viable reserve fantasy QB. As for this week, he gets to face the toothless Lions' defense which Garcia should have no problem picking apart. After this week his stock should be at the peak, which means that next week might be the time to try to swing him in a trade. * STOCK DOWN: QB Vince Young (TEN) In defense of Young, he has completed 64% of his passes this season and is 8-4 in the games in which he has started AND finished. However, his 3 TD passes and 6 INTs leave a lot to be desired. From a fantasy perspective he was drafted in the top 10 in most leagues, but is now checking in with stats on par of a #3 fantasy QB. What's more? He won't get the start this week due to a quad injury. The Madden Curse seems to have possessed him. * STOCK DOWN: RB Marion Barber III (DAL) Barber started the season on fire, but of late he has been struggling to post legit fantasy numbers (he has fallen from the #1 fantasy RB after 3 weeks to middling in the top 10). Part of the reason is the RBBC approach that the Cowboys are taking. Barber has managed just 8 carries in each of the last three games (24 carries for 125 yards). The real problem is that he hasn't managed to score a TD in the last 3 games after scoring 5 TDs in the first 3 weeks. This week he faces the NFL's toughest run defense as the Vikings are on tap. This should prevent Barber from posting big numbers for the fourth straight week. * STOCK UP: WR Patrick Crayton (DAL) One of the reasons that Barber's (see above) stock has been on the decline is that Crayton's stock is on the rise. Crayton is sitting right behind T.O. in terms of fantasy rank. Over the last three weeks Crayton has hauled in 18 passes for 303 yards and 4 TDs. He has now emerged as a legitimate #2 fantasy WR and should have a good play this week against a Viking secondary that gets picked on because their run defense is so good. |==================================================| 7.
