Furthermore, Edge is the NFL's 5th leading rusher. San Diego @ Green Bay Brett Favre is the winningest QB of all-time after knocking off the Giants last weekend. Brandon Jackson - 32 carries for 75 yards (2.3 ypc) is better than LT's 35 carries for 68 yards (1.9 ypc). St. Louis @ Tampa Bay Jeff Garcia is 1-7 career against the Rams. San Francisco @ Pittsburgh The Steelers boast the NFL's #3 defense while the 49ers rank dead last in offense. Detroit @ Philadelphia Detroit hasn't won a championship since 1957 (50 years ago) and haven't been 3-0 since 1980. The Lions rank #1 in the NFL in passing with 643 yards. Miami @ NY Jets Ronnie Brown managed 237 yards rushing on 40 carries against the Jets in two games last year. Buffalo @ New England With 17 catches through 2 weeks, Moss is on pace for 136 receptions this season, while Welker (14 to-date) is on pace for 112 catches. Minnesota @ KK The Vikings defense has scored 3 TDs already this season and they forced 5 turnovers last week. Indianpolis @ Houston Manning threw for 605 yards and 6 TDs against the Texans last year. Cincinnati @ Seattle This game pits Carson Palmer (108.5 - 6th in the NFL) against Matt Hasselbeck (102.3 - 8th in NFL). Cleveland @ Oakland LaMont Jordan managed 128 yards against Cleveland last year. Jacksonville @ Denver This match-up pits the Broncos #1 rushing offense against the Jaguars #32 rushing defense. Travis Henry should run wild. NY Giants @ Washington The Giants have given up a league high 80 points so far this season. Carolina @ Atlanta Steve Smith didn't manage to catch a pass against the Falcons last year. Notice that he missed the week 1 game with an injury though! Dallas @ Chicago Dallas is averaging a league-high 41 points per game while Chicago is ranked 4th on defense in allowing only 12 points per game. Tennessee @ New Orleans The Saints had the #1 offense in 2006 with 391 yards per game, while in 2007 they are averaging only 318 yards and are ranked 16th despite not losing any starters from last year's team. |==================================================| 7. Recent NFL Headlines / Injury News |==================================================| * Check out our latest Headlines * - http://www.askthecommish.com/headlines/index.asp Here are some recent headlines that could be of interest to you: Packers | Tidbits: WR Martin draws the calls to keep chains moving Sat, Sep 22 @ 7:57 AM EST Martin will get the start this week, but we feel that he's a shaky play. Jennings or even James Jones might usurp him anyway because they are both Probable this week. Jets | Thomas Jones hopes to shake early-season struggles Sat, Sep 22 @ 7:57 AM EST Jones hasn't been what the Jets were hoping for due to a preseason injury, but he's hoping to shake off his struggles against the Dolphins. Eagles | Smith sidelined after groin procedure Sat, Sep 22 @ 7:57 AM EST LJ Smith who underwent a sports hernia surgery shortly before preseason games kicked off has been suffering from a groin strain. He underwent another procedure to fix his current problem and will be out until at least October 14. Ravens | McNair re-enters lineup, but Ogden not yet ready Sat, Sep 22 @ 7:57 AM EST McNair will get the call again for the Ravens at QB, but Ogden will not play this week. Dolphins | Brown waits for chance to carry load Sat, Sep 22 @ 7:57 AM EST Ronnie Brown is chomping at the bit to be the Dolphins feature back and not have to share so many carries. Vikings | It's a mystery who Vikings will start at QB Sat, Sep 22 @ 7:57 AM EST The Vikings have told the team who will start at QB this weekend, but they have been mum to the public. We expect Holcomb to get the call as Jackson won't be ready enough to play. |==================================================| 8. Stock Up / Down |==================================================| * STOCK UP: QB Byron Leftwich (ATL) The Harrington watch has officially begun. Leftwich will need at least a few weeks to get up-to-speed with the Falcons play book and barring a miracle for Joey Harrington, Leftwich will be the Falcons starting QB by 10/21, if not by the 10/14 Monday night game. We bet that ESPN wishes that they could switch out of the NY Giants and Atlanta as their MNF contest on 10/14. * STOCK UP: RB Jamal Lewis (CLE) Lewis emerged with an amazing 216 yard game last week and is now #2 in the NFL in rushing. Lewis looked like the Lewis of old last weekend against a shaky Bengals defense. * STOCK DOWN WR Reggie Brown (PHI) Brown was at least targeted in the end zone last week by McNabb, but has been MIA for the Eagles this year with only 1 catch for 14 yards and 2 catches for 27 yards in his first two weeks. McNabb has kind of dissed the Eagles WRs, but he shouldn't do that unless he can actually hit the WRs in their hands. * STOCK DOWN TE L.J. Smith (PHI) Sticking with the Eagles here, Smith underwent a groin procedure and will likely not be available until at least 10/14. |==================================================| 9.
