Elvis Dumervil DEN 1 Atlanta @ Jacksonville Joey Harrington tossed two passing TDs last week, but both of them went to players wearing a different uniform. Buffalo @ Pittsburgh The Bills managed a meager 72 yards of passing offense last week. Cincinnati @ Cleveland The Browns were intercepted twice and fumbled four times last week while the Bengals intercepted two passes and recovered 5 fumbles. Green Bay @ NY Giants The Giants allowed 478 yards of offense last week. Houston @ Carolina The Panthers managed 178 yards of offense rushing last week. Indianapolis @ Tennessee The Colts held the ball for only 28 minutes last week, but managed to blow out the Saints. New Orleans @ Tampa Bay McAllister and Bush managed 5 TDs in two games last year against TB. San Francisco @ St. Louis Frank Gore managed more than 125 yards rushing and a TD in both games against STL last year. Dallas @ Miami The Cowboys managed to convert on 55% of their third downs last week. Minnesota @ Detroit In 2006 the Detroit Lions managed just 16 yards ruhing in their first meeting with Minnesota and a horrendous -3 yards rushing in their second meeting. Do not expect the Lions running game to get going this week against a still stingy Minnesota run defense. Furthermore, the Lions have lost their last 10 games to the Vikings. Seattle @ Arizona Hasselbeck managede 3 TDs in Arizona last year. KC @ Chicago The Chiefs allowed 109 yards rushing last week. NY Jets @ Baltimore The Ravens managed to convert on just 15% of their 3rd downs last week. Oakland @ Denver Jay Cutler is making just his 7th career start. SD @ New England The Patriots converted 2/3 of their 3rd downs last week. Washington @ Philadelphia Ladell Betts ran for 171 yards the last time these two teams faced off. |==================================================| 6. Recent NFL Headlines / Injury News |==================================================| * Check out our latest Headlines * - http://www.askthecommish.com/headlines/index.asp Here are some recent headlines that could be of interest to you: Raiders | Culpepper expected to start week 2 with McCown Questionable Sat, Sep 15 @ 9:00 AM EST McCown (injured finger and sore foot) is likely going to miss the week 2 game against Denver with Culpepper likely to start. Watch this situation closely. Browns | Anderson likely won't start for long Sat, Sep 15 @ 8:56 AM EST Derek Anderson's starting assignment isn't expected to last too long. Sure, we know that Frye was traded, but Brady Quinn is gaining ground quickly. Lions | Kevin Jones is expected to be back in action next week Sat, Sep 15 @ 8:52 AM EST by Tom Kowalski of MLive - According to multiple sources, running back Kevin Jones has looked "awesome'' the last two days of practice and is expected to play next week against Philadelphia. Chargers | Antonio Gates: (Back) Says He is Fine (RotoWire) Sat, Sep 15 @ 8:11 AM EST Antonio Gates was held out of practice with a sore back, but he should be fine for this week's match-up with the Pats Vikings | Peterson off and running in Minnesota Sat, Sep 15 @ 8:11 AM EST AP got off to a good start for rookie of the year honors after seeing most of the action in week 1 with Chester Taylor sidelined with a hip injury. Taylor is listed as Questionable for this week. Seahawks | Shaun Alexander injury update Sat, Sep 15 @ 8:11 AM EST Alexander has been wearing a soft cast on his hand/wrist this week. He say's it's just a boo-boo, but there is an injury here. Alexander is downplaying it because he will certainly play this week, but we expect Morris to see action as a third down back. Giants | Will Eli play? Giants QB will wait to decide Sat, Sep 15 @ 8:11 AM EST Elie Manning may still try to play this week. Stay tuned as it appears that we're headed towards the dreaded Game-Time Decision (GTD). Dolphins | Chatman returns to Dolphins practice Sat, Sep 15 @ 8:11 AM EST Chatman has been held out of practice with a sprained knee. This means that Ronnie Brown should see more action in the running game, but it looks like Chatman will play this week. |==================================================| 7. Stock Up / Down |==================================================| * STOCK UP: RB Chris Brown (TEN) Chris Brown went off last week in rushing for 175 yards against a stout Jags defense. While White was getting the bulk of the carries early on, it looks like Brown will be the primary RB if healthy. White will still see some time, probably about 1/3 of the carries as the change of pace runner. * STOCK DOWN: RB Brandon Jacobs (NYG) Derrick Ward went from third string to feature RB in about a half of football when Jacobs left with a knee injury. Ward will be spelled by the bigger Droughns from time to time, but is the Giants primary ball carrier right now. * STOCK Up: WR Ronald Curry (OAK) Curry caught 10 passes for 133 yards and a TD last week and looks like a marginal #2 fantasy WR, just not this week against Denver. |==================================================| 8.
