My draft philosophy was to load up on running backs early and not just running backs but starting running backs which I think I accomplished with my first 3 out of 4 picks. Overall, I was concentrating on drafting the player of best possible value at the position I was drafting at while still paying attention to the needs of my team.
I am Most Proud Of:
I really don't know if I am most proud of anyone. I think I had a solid but not great draft. I was excited about picking up Anquan Boldin in the mid 3rd round. I thought that was a pretty good pick. I was glad Manning landed to me at the end of the 6th round.
Here's Who I Reached on:
I reached on Rod Smith. For god sakes the guy is probably going to training camp with a walker (Javon or a metal one), but I am sure he will find a way to get his 1,000 yards. But in the early 7th round he may be a reach, but it will really depend if Javon Walker is the real deal or not.
My Overall Feeling About My Draft:
I really felt good about the draft overall. This draft more than any other year, you really had to make adjustments as you went along. This draft didn't really follow a blueprint. I, like every other team, needed to get the best value at each pick. As we all know it will come down to which team stays the healthiest the longest.
Which Owner (Other Than Yourself) Had The Best
Draft?
Richardard did a great job drafting. He got LT which fell to him at #4, if Julius Jones stays healthy and Ron Dayne wins the starting job in Denver, this running back situation is outstanding. I like the QB situation. I think Aaron Brooks will rebound this year now that he is out of New Orleans and you can't argue with the Hasselback pick. I think his receivers are solid and provide good depth. Overall a very good job.
Duane, I am so glad we are in the same division this year because you also had a good draft. I am a Plummer fan and I bet he has a career year now since he is good and pissed off. If Daunte rebounds you are sitting pretty. Your running backs will bring depth and one of those three Green, Dillon and Taylor will provide you points along with Portis. You heard it here first Duane's receivers I think have a chance to be some of the best in the league. This is a dangerous team if all the cards fall right.
Ron had a solid draft from top to bottom, Trent has great running back depth but is a little lacking in the wide receiver department. Overall very good jobs by both.
Which Owner (Other Than Yourself) Had The Worst
Draft?
Don you didn't even draft a kicker buddy. Enough said. And I love your 8 running backs by committee. But watch you will probably win the league.
