Topic: Antonio Gates

He's been a staple of my teams for years-and I know that he's not the top at his position anymore.  Health is an issue, but he's still a good bet for solid points every week.  I'm curious to know thoughts on him, and if he's worth it as a 4th keeper.  It's between him, Miles Austin, and Marques Colston.  I'm not 100% sold on any of them.

Rest of your keepers?  Don't think any of those guys has more then 2 to 3 good years left in them.  For me it would be between Austin and Gates.

Re: Antonio Gates

I agree with YR, I think Colston is a must keep, and I'd lean more towards Gates.  He's claiming to be 100%, and if he is, I think Rivers will depend on him more now that VJax is gone, still don't trust Meachem as a WR1.  And Austin had 1 good year, that came out of no where.  Since then, the emergence of Dez Bryant has shifted him to WR2 in that offense, but with Witten still there, I think he's more of the third option.

Colston
Gates
Austin

Re: Antonio Gates

My other keepers are set.  Brees, MJD, and Cruz.  I have had Colston on my team for years, but there have been so many weapons in NO that he's good, but not fantastic.  Gates has been a staple on my teams for a long time, but has been eclipsed with the emergence of so many good TEs.  Just trying to get the fantasy juices flowing again and look beyond some guys that have been staples for years for me because they are no longer elite.  Problem is they are still good-just not elite anymore.

Re: Antonio Gates

I think I'd keep Gates, considering WRs are pretty deep this year.
