Lamar Gordon

Seeing that he will most likely be traded to the Dolphins, and he'll be the best back there, is he worth a roster spot immediately?? I was thinking about getting him off the wire, but I don't want to wait too long.

RE: Lamar Gordon  (in reply to BuddyK

I personally have picked him up in both of my leagues.
I dropped two back-up RB's for him.
I figure a starter with Miami is better than hoping A-train and Bettis get goal line carries.
Gordon will not be a starter, but hopefully a better plug-in than bettis/a-train.

You don't think he'll start? I was thinking he's a much better Back then the other two, so I figured he'll be starting by week 2 or 3.

Sorry, that is not what i meant.

I meant, I won't use him as one of my weekly starters.
I have better RB's, but i would certainly use him as a bye-week starter, or when one of my stud RB faces a really tough D.

I believe that Gordon will the THE starter for Miami.
Certainly a better RB than Minor et al.

I picked him up in 3 leagues. I won't use him this week, but he'll be in the starting lineup on a couple of my teams after this weekend.

I picked him up on two teams myself. Dumped my extra TE (Desmond Clark) on one team and reluctantly dropped Donte Stallworth on another to get him. It was a tough decision, but my only bench RB on that team was Garrison Hearst.

It'll be worth it. They were going to give the RB they started 20-30 carries a game anyway, and I think Gordon can handle the load. He's a big back coming from a good system.

I put Michael Bennett on IR and nabbed Gordon. When Bennett comes back, I'll dump Warrick Dunn.

I have picked him up in both of my league's also.
I am just worried that opposing D's will solely concentrate on stopping him.
Also, their O-line certainly isn't the best.
Def. worth picking up and hoping that their offense starts to click-so D's won't
only concentrate on the run.
When miami played good D's--they could even stop Ricky, cus they weren't worried abou the long ball.
I hope their Offense is good, except of course, when they play the Pat's.

I don't think defenses will be able to only focus on miami's run. Chambers and Booker form a good receiving duo that other teams will have to respect.

Yes, it's a sure thing. He passed his physical today and he is on the team.

RE: Lamar Gordon  (in reply to Tony Ionno

There are slim pickins when it comes to running backs in my league. As soon as I saw the story on The Commish Home page, I jumped to my League page and picked Lamar up as a free agent...We all know Miami has not been happy with Minor or Morris. So I figure...there not going to waste the time and effort or a draft pick to have the guy sit on the bench...he'll be a starter soon enough. In their press conference, Miami said they wanted to make deal for him a couple years ago...but then the Ricky Williams deal came up and they snagged Ricky!! So they have had their eye on him for years!!
